Best Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup butter 
1/2 cup of shortening
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
3 cups old fashioned rolled oats

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

1. Mix the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder together in small bowl.  Set aside.  

2. Cream the butter and the sugars together.  Add the eggs.  Beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.

3.  Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture and beat until combined.  Add the rolled oats and continue beating.  

4.  Place rounded teaspoons of dough on a lightly greased baking sheet.  The resulting mounds of dough should be no larger than walnuts

5.  Bake for 9 to 10 minutes or until done.  Let sit on the cookie sheet for two minutes and then remove them to a wire rack to completely cool.
